The 2018 ECMAs - Industry Conference Overview

The 2018 ECMAs Industry Conference is the premiere destination for all Atlantic Canadian artists and industry professionals. It is a place for artists and members to connect with international guest delegates and educators, offer mentorship and be mentored by peers and industry experts, and ultimately elevate their careers.

This year the conference will continue to shine a spotlight on the ECMA Music in Motion: Film, Television & New Media program and will offer a series of engaging forums to help prepare industry professionals and companies with the insight to expand career and business opportunities in the world of film, television, advertising and music supervision. Conference attendees will hear from peers and industry experts working in the field to bring new opportunities to East Coast artists and companies.

Mentorship and intensive workshop opportunities are a cornerstone of the ECMA Industry Conference. This year we will continue to offer mentorship programs for managers, breakout artists, emerging and established artists as well as industry professionals. In addition to these in-demand programs, ECMA will be adding new peer-to-peer opportunities throughout the event.

Returning this year will be the Connect with the Experts - Artist & Industry Mentorship Program. This is a choose-your-own-adventure style of mentorship that allows artists to select the area(s) of the business where they would like to receive support and mentorship and sign up for 30 minute sessions with a mentor in that field. Tracks will include: radio promotion, PR, music licensing, digital rights, funding, showcasing, touring, and others to be confirmed. These meetings allow for industry members to have meaningful and direct exchanges with attending delegates.

This year’s conference will continue to offer unparalleled opportunities for delegates to connect with key members of the music industry through unique mentorship programs, engaging conference sessions and strategic networking opportunities. The full ECMA conference schedule will be available in early 2018 along with announcements on the ECMA 2018 Export Buyers Program.

The 2018 Export Buyers Program and East Coast Music Awards: Festival & Conference  receive financial support from the Government of Canada through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) Business Development Program and Service Canada, the Province of Nova Scotia and the city of Halifax. The East Coast Music Association would also like to acknowledge the financial support of FACTOR, MUSICACTION and the Government of Canada through the Department of Canadian Heritage (Canada Music Fund) and of Canada's private radio broadcasters.
