Kim Harris’ oceanic voice is vast and ever changing. She emits rich colours, and textures with her debut album, Only The Mighty, named Rising Star Recording of the Year at the 2015 East Coast Music Awards and winner of three Music Nova Scotia Awards, including SOCAN Songwriter of the Year.
Originally from Newfoundland and now based in Nova Scotia, Harris is a thriving force hailed by CBC Music’s Holly Gordon as “The mightiest voice coming out of the East Coast.” This past year, Harris shared the stage with some of Canada’s brightest talent, featuring a support role for two of her most influential artists, Jenn Grant and Amelia Curran, on their most recent album release tours.
With a performance that takes listeners on a symphonic journey that soars through constellations, tumbles through storm clouds, and plunges into the underbelly of the sea, Harris is currently working on new material and getting ready to collaborate with the award-winning Echo Lake producer Daniel Ledwell (Jenn Grant, Fortunate Ones, Oh Pep!) on her next project to be released in 2017.
