With a background that starts with Hank Snow and now includes Gord Bamford, Matt Andersen, One More Girl, Jaydee Bixby, Barney Bentall, Julian Austin, Valdy, etc, Lauren Tutty is one of Canada’s busiest Radio Trackers. Her clients can be heard on radio coast-to-coast and her work ethic to get them there is second to none. Whether she is booking interviews; setting up radio station tours; or chasing music directors; she is regarded by her peers as one of the best at what she does.
Lauren has been a familiar face at Music Conferences such as Country Music Week, Canadian Music Week, Nova Scotia Music Week, BC Country Music Awards and the East Coast Music Awards. As a frequent sought-after panelist, Lauren has spent countless hours teaching emerging artists the do’s and don’ts of getting radio airplay. “Radio, says Lauren, is in the business of playing commercials, music is what happens in between those commercials. Understanding that is one of the most important steps to starting your radio career.”
Not only does Lauren arrange radio station tours, but she can also be seen accompanying her artists. “Introducing the musicians to those people who support and play their music is extremely important.”
Whether she is a judge for the CCMA Discovery Program, New Artist Showcase or a Factor Juror for Music Nova Scotia, she never gets tired of hearing good music. “I am always excited when I hear a good band, a good song or a great singer. That’s what makes this business so exciting. I am always open to listening to new music!”
