ECMA Announces First Slate of 2022 East Coast Music Award Winners
Hillsburn, Morgan Toney, Chloé Breault and Zamani are among the initial winners of the 2022 East Coast Music Awards (ECMAs). The awards were announced this evening, as part of the first live awards show since 2019, held at the Aitken University Centre in Fredericton, NB and broadcast live across the Rogers network.
Hosted by the Canadian God Father of Rap, Maestro Fresh Wes, the 2022 East Coast Music Awards Show presented by Rogers featured performances from Andrew Waite (PEI), Chloé Breault (NB), Hillsburn (NS), Kelly McMichael (NL), Morgan Toney (CB), One8tea (NB), Quote The Raven (NL), The Town Heroes (CB), and Zamani (NS). With special guest performances by Lisa Leblanc (NB) and Patsy Gallant (NB), who received the Director’s Special Achievement Award, as well as a tribute to Acadian songwriting as 1755 performed their newly inducted Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame song “Le monde a bien changé”.
The remaining ECMA Awards will be handed out Sunday May 8, at the East Coast Music Awards Part II: Music & Industry Awards Show, hosted by Stephen Antle at the Delta Hotels Fredericton and live on ECMA.com.

The ECMA have additionally announced that Halifax, Nova Scotia will host the 35th anniversary of the East Coast Music Awards: Festival & Conference in 2023.
“We’re very excited to head back to Halifax to mark our 35th anniversary,” said Andy McLean, CEO of the East Coast Music Association. “After so much change, it will be incredible to celebrate the breadth, depth, and history of East Coast Music and our association in what is quickly becoming the Music City of the Atlantic Region. “

Hillsburn, Morgan Toney, Chloé Breault et Zamani comptent parmi les premiers gagnants des Prix de la musique de la côte Est 2022 (AMCE). Les gagnants des prix ont été annoncés ce soir, dans le cadre de la première cérémonie de remise de prix en présentiel depuis 2019, à l’Aitken University Centre, à Fredericton, au Nouveau-Brunswick, qui a été diffusée en direct sur le réseau de Rogers.
Animée par le parrain canadien du rap, Maestro Fresh Wes, la Cérémonie de remise des Prix de la musique de la côte Est présentée par Rogers a donné lieu à des prestations d’Andrew Waite (I.-P.-É.), de Chloé Breault (N.-B.), de Hillsburn (N.-É.), de Kelly McMichael (T.-N.-L.), de Morgan Toney (C.-B.), de One8tea (N.-B.), de Quote The Raven (T.-N.-L.), de The Town Heroes (C.-B.) et de Zamani (N.-É.). Des prestations spéciales de Lisa Leblanc (N.-B.) et de Patsy Gallant (N.-B.), qui a reçu le Prix de la réalisation spéciale d’un réalisateur ou d’une réalisatrice, ainsi qu’un hommage aux compositeurs acadiens, avec la prestation de 1755, qui a interprété sa chanson nouvellement intronisée au Panthéon des auteurs et compositeurs canadiens, « Le monde a bien changé », ont été présentés.
Les autres prix de l’AMCE seront remis le dimanche 8 mai, lors de la deuxième cérémonie de remise des Prix de la musique de la côte Est : Cérémonie de remise des prix de l’industrie et de la musique, animée par Stephen Antle, au Delta Hotels Fredericton et diffusée en direct sur le site ECMA.com.

L’ECMA a également annoncé que la ville de Halifax, en Nouvelle-Écosse, accueillera le 35e anniversaire des Prix de la musique de la côte Est : le festival et la conférence en 2023.
« Nous sommes très heureux de revenir à Halifax pour souligner notre 35e anniversaire », a affirmé Andy McLean, président et directeur général de l’Association de la musique de la côte Est. « Après autant de changements, ce sera incroyable de célébrer l’étendue, la profondeur et l’histoire de la musique de la côte est et de notre Association dans la ville qui est rapidement en train de devenir la “Ville de la musique” dans la région atlantique. »
